Dolen Perkins-Valdez
Dolen Perkins-Valdez is an American novelist and essayist, widely recognized as a preeminent chronicler of American historical life. She is the New York Times bestselling author of novels including Wench, Balm, Take My Hand, and Happy Land. She is an Associate Professor in the Literature Department at American University and has served as the Chair of the Board of the PEN/Faulkner Foundation.
