Sarah Asper-Smith is an author and illustrator who was born and raised in Juneau, Alaska. She lives with her husband and dog in a house on the side of a mountain. In addition to writing children's books, she runs a small exhibit design and development company, traveling around Alaska to help people tell their stories. She has also worked as a curator and graphic designer for museums in Alaska, including facilitating the co-curatorial exhibit development for the permanent exhibits at the Alaska State Museum. Her books often feature themes related to animals and nature.
