Tara Altebrando is a native New Yorker who began writing in the 5th grade. She has written for various publications, including high school and college newspapers, and rock music and teen magazines. She has also published numerous essays and short stories. Altebrando is a graduate of Harvard University, where she studied American Government. She lives in Queens, New York, with her husband, two daughters, and a dog named Honeyduke. She has taught novel writing and scripted audio writing. She is also known to write under the name Tara McCarthy.
