M. A. Larson is an American screenwriter and author, known for his work on animated series such as My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, Gravity Falls, and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. He is also the author of the Pennyroyal Academy book series. Larson studied filmmaking at the University of Miami and began his career in New York, assisting director Mike Nichols. He later moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in animation writing. He has written for numerous children's television networks, including Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, and Nickelodeon. His first novel, Pennyroyal Academy, was published in 2014.
