
Elyse Friedman
Elyse Friedman is a critically acclaimed Canadian author, screenwriter, poet, and playwright. Born in Toronto, Ontario, she graduated from Sheridan College with a degree in film studies and also studied writing at Humber College and screenwriting at the Canadian Film Centre. Her work has been shortlisted for numerous awards, including the Trillium Book Award, Toronto Book Award, and ReLit Award. She has won a Gold National Magazine Award for her short story "The Soother" and has twice won the TIFF-CBC Films Screenwriter Award. Friedman's writing often blends humor with darker themes, exploring complex human experiences.
