Lori Handeland (born 1961) is an American author of romance, paranormal romance and urban fantasy. A New York Times and USA Today bestselling writer, she has published more than sixty novels and is a two-time winner of the Romance Writers of America RITA Award. Her notable series include the Nightcreature novels and The Phoenix Chronicles; she also writes contemporary and historical romance (including work under the pen name Lori Austin) and more recently women’s fiction.
