Quentin Bates

Quentin Bates is an English novelist known for his crime fiction novels set in Iceland. He lived in Iceland for a decade, working various jobs including as a seaman, before returning to the UK to become a journalist. His experiences in Iceland heavily influence his writing, particularly his series featuring Detective Gunnhildur Gísladóttir. Bates is also a translator of Icelandic literature and a co-founder of the Iceland Noir literary festival.
