Carole Nelson Douglas
Carole Nelson Douglas was an American writer known for her prolific work across multiple genres, including mystery, thriller, romance, high fantasy, and science fiction. She began her career as an award-winning journalist for the St. Paul Pioneer Press before transitioning to fiction writing in the late 1970s. Douglas is best known for her Irene Adler historical suspense series and the Midnight Louie mystery series, featuring a feline private investigator. Her work often focused on reinventing the roles of women in fiction, creating realistic protagonists and partners. She was nominated for or won over fifty writing awards throughout her career. Douglas passed away on October 20, 2021.
