Alicia Giménez-Bartlett
Alicia Giménez-Bartlett is a Spanish writer born in Almansa, Spain, in 1951. She is best known for her series of detective novels featuring the protagonist Petra Delicado. Giménez-Bartlett holds a degree in Spanish Studies from the University of Valencia and a PhD in Spanish Literature from the University of Barcelona. She worked as a teacher of Spanish literature for 17 years before dedicating herself full-time to writing after the success of her early novels. Her work has been translated into numerous languages and is popular internationally, particularly in Germany and Italy. Her novels have been adapted for television in Spain and Italy. She has received several awards, including the Nadal Prize in 2011 for "Donde nadie te encuentre" and the Planeta Prize in 2015 for "Hombres desnudos". She has lived in Barcelona since 1975, and more recently in Vinaròs.
