Muriel Barbery

Muriel Barbery is a French novelist and former philosophy teacher. Born in Casablanca, Morocco, she was raised in France and studied at the École Normale Supérieure. She gained international acclaim with her 2006 novel, 'The Elegance of the Hedgehog', which became a massive bestseller. Her work often reflects her philosophical background and her deep appreciation for Japanese culture, influenced by her time living in Kyoto.
