Anne Berest is a French writer, actress, and screenwriter. Born in 1979 in Paris, she is the great-granddaughter of the painter Francis Picabia and the French Resistance fighter Gabriële Buffet-Picabia. She is widely recognized for her autobiographical novel 'The Postcard' (La Carte Postale), which investigates her family's history and their experience during the Holocaust. She has also co-authored the bestseller 'How to Be Parisian Wherever You Are' and a biography of her great-grandmother, 'Gabriële', written with her sister Claire Berest. Her work often explores themes of identity, family secrets, and history.
