Khaled Hosseini

Khaled Hosseini (born 1965) is an Afghan-American novelist and physician best known for his novels exploring Afghan history and the experiences of Afghan refugees. His debut, The Kite Runner (2003), became an international bestseller and brought attention to Afghanistan's recent history. Hosseini's work often focuses on family, friendship, and the effects of war and displacement. In addition to writing, he is active in humanitarian work related to Afghanistan.
