Gordon R. Dickson

Gordon R. Dickson was a Canadian-born American science fiction and fantasy author, known for his Childe Cycle (also known as the Dorsai series) and Dragon Knight series. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and earned a B.A. in English from the University of Minnesota. Dickson was a prolific writer, publishing over 80 novels and many short stories. His work often explored themes of humanity's evolutionary potential, military strategy, philosophy, and faith. He was a recipient of multiple Hugo and Nebula awards and was inducted into the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame in 2000. He died in 2001 from complications related to asthma.
