Zack Zombie is the pen name for the writing team of William Peña and his son Matthew Peña. They created the 'Diary of a Minecraft Zombie' series to bring joy and laughter to pre-teen readers, drawing from their love for Minecraft and funny stories. William comes up with the ideas, and Matthew approves them. They also have a non-Minecraft series, 'Diary of a Middle School Zombie.'
