Miranda Dickinson
Miranda Dickinson is a British novelist and singer-songwriter from the Black Country in England's West Midlands. She grew up in Kingswinford in a creative family, where stories, songs, and performance were always present. Her parents were folk singers, and this blend of music and storytelling has stayed with her. Dickinson dreamed of seeing her name on the shelves of the local library from a young age. After studying Performance Art, she began writing in earnest when a friend gave her an old computer. Her debut novel, "Fairytale of New York," was published in 2009 and became a Sunday Times top ten bestseller within weeks. Much of her fiction is in the contemporary romance or women's fiction genres, often as standalones. She has also written crime novels under the pseudonym M.J. White. Dickinson has sold over a million books worldwide and her works have been translated into numerous languages. She has been shortlisted for several RNA awards and won the 26 Project Writer award. She lives in Dudley with her husband, Bob, and their daughter, Flo.
