Greg Iles (born Mark Gregory Iles) was an American novelist best known for his Penn Cage series and a string of bestselling thrillers. Born in Germany and raised in Natchez, Mississippi, he wrote novels that often explored crime, race, and Southern history. Several of his works were bestsellers and adapted for screen; he was also a member of the literary-musical group The Rock Bottom Remainders.
