Hayley Gelfuso

Hayley Gelfuso is an author and poet who works in the environmental nonprofit sector. She is drawn to stories of the wild and wonderful that are rooted in real-world history and science. Her poetry about her experiences working in the conservation field has been published in the Plumwood Mountain Journal. She has a master's degree in biology from Miami University and lives in the Chicago suburbs with her husband and son. Her debut novel, "The Book of Lost Hours," was published in 2025 and has been featured in over twenty countries worldwide. It was also a Good Morning America Book Club pick and received the Compton Crook Award from the Baltimore Science Fiction Society. Gelfuso calls her genre "speculative historical."
