Janina Ramirez

Janina Ramirez is a British art historian, cultural historian, and TV presenter who specializes in interpreting symbols and examining works of art within their historical context. She has a passion for bringing the past to life and has written for various audiences across fiction and non-fiction. Ramirez has authored several books, including the Sunday Times bestsellers 'Femina: A New History of the Middle Ages Through the Women Written Out of It' and 'Legenda: The Real Women Behind the Myths that Shaped Europe'. She has also written children's novels and non-fiction works. In addition to her writing, she has presented numerous documentaries for the BBC and other broadcasters. Ramirez holds degrees from St Anne's College, Oxford, and the University of York, where she earned her PhD. She has held lecturing positions at several universities and is currently a Research Fellow in History of Art at Harris Manchester College, Oxford, and a Visiting Professor in Medieval Studies at the University of Lincoln.
