Marsha Mehran was an Iranian novelist known for her international bestsellers "Pomegranate Soup" (2005) and "Rosewater and Soda Bread" (2008). Born in Tehran, Iran, she and her family fled the Iranian Revolution, eventually settling in Argentina. Her life was marked by frequent moves, living in Argentina, the United States, Australia, and Ireland. Mehran pursued a dream of becoming a concert pianist before turning to writing. Her novels often incorporated her personal experiences, cultural heritage, and recipes, blending Persian cooking with Irish settings. She died in April 2014 at the age of 36 in County Mayo, Ireland.
