Parnaz Foroutan is an Iranian-born author and activist who immigrated to the United States as a young girl. Her work, including her debut novel 'The Girl from the Garden' and her memoir 'Home Is a Stranger', often explores themes of identity, family history, and the immigrant experience. She is a recipient of the PEN USA Emerging Voices fellowship and has been a Hedgebrook fellow.
