Myriam J. A. Chancy

Myriam J. A. Chancy is a Haitian-Canadian-American writer and academic. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, she later moved to Canada and eventually the United States. She is a Guggenheim Fellow and holds the Hartley Burr Alexander Chair in the Humanities at Scripps College. Her work, which includes both novels and scholarly books, frequently explores themes of Haitian culture, gender, class, sexuality, and the African diaspora.
