Walter Lord was an American author, lawyer, copywriter, and popular historian, best known for his 1955 account of the sinking of the Titanic, 'A Night to Remember.' He specialized in meticulously researched, narrative non-fiction accounts of historical events, often incorporating interviews with survivors and witnesses to create an immersive 'you are there' experience. His other notable works include 'Day of Infamy' (Pearl Harbor attack), 'Incredible Victory' (Battle of Midway), and 'The Miracle of Dunkirk.'
