Vesanto Melina is a Canadian Registered Dietitian and a leading author and speaker on vegetarian, vegan, and raw food nutrition. Her books, often co-authored with Brenda Davis, have sold over a million copies in English and have been translated into numerous languages. She has presented workshops and talks internationally on plant-based nutrition for dietitians, health professionals, and the public. Melina has also served as a consultant to the government of British Columbia and is the lead author of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' Position Paper on Vegetarian Diets. She became vegetarian in 1978 and vegan in 1993.
