Adolph Green
Adolph Green was an American lyricist, playwright, and actor, best known for his six-decade-long creative partnership with Betty Comden. Together, they penned screenplays and songs for numerous Broadway musicals and Hollywood film musicals, earning critical acclaim and numerous awards. Their work is characterized by wit, sophistication, and a unique comic genius. Some of their most notable works include the musicals 'On the Town,' 'Bells Are Ringing,' 'Wonderful Town,' and 'Applause,' as well as the iconic film 'Singin' in the Rain.' Green also had a career as an actor, appearing in films such as 'My Favorite Year' and 'The Band Wagon.' He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the American Theatre Hall of Fame.
