Jon Silkin

Jon Silkin was a British poet, born in London in 1930. He founded and edited the literary magazine Stand from 1952 until his death in 1997. His poetry often explored themes of nature, Anglo-Jewish identity, and the impact of war. He was known for his distinctive voice and his critical work on World War I poets. Silkin lectured and taught widely in Britain and abroad, and held various academic positions.
