Elliot Ackerman
Elliot Ackerman (born April 12, 1980) is an American novelist and former U.S. Marine Corps officer. His fiction and nonfiction draw on his military service and reporting from the Middle East; notable books include Green on Blue, Dark at the Crossing, Waiting for Eden, Places and Names, The Fifth Act, and the co-authored techno‑political novel 2034. His work has appeared in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The New Republic and The New York Times Magazine. He has received military honors including the Silver Star, Bronze Star for Valor, and Purple Heart, and has been a finalist for major literary awards.
