Jeanne Birdsall

Jeanne Birdsall (born 1951) is an American photographer and author best known for The Penderwicks series. Her debut novel, The Penderwicks, won the 2005 National Book Award for Young People's Literature. Birdsall worked for many years as a photographer, with work held in museum collections, before publishing children's books. She lives in Northampton, Massachusetts.
