Anne McCaffrey

Anne Inez McCaffrey (1926–2011) was an American-born science fiction author who later became an Irish citizen. She is best known for the Dragonriders of Pern series and for pioneering character-driven science fiction that blended emotional storytelling with speculative concepts. McCaffrey was the first woman to win both a Hugo and a Nebula award for fiction and published prolifically across several series and stand-alone works.
