Rachel Caine

Rachel Caine was the pen name of Roxanne Longstreet Conrad (April 27, 1962 – November 1, 2020). An American author of more than fifty novels, she wrote across genres including urban fantasy, young adult, science fiction, mystery, suspense, and horror. Her best-known series include The Morganville Vampires (YA), the Weather Warden (urban fantasy), The Great Library (adult YA/alternate-history fantasy), and the Stillhouse Lake thriller series. A former professional musician and corporate communications director, she began publishing in 1990 and wrote full-time from 2010. Caine was diagnosed with soft-tissue sarcoma in 2018 and died in 2020.
