Jon Scieszka

Jon Scieszka (born September 8, 1954) is an American author of children’s books, best known for irreverent, humorous picture books (often illustrated by Lane Smith) such as The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs! and The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Fairy Tales. A former elementary school teacher, Scieszka founded the literacy initiative Guys Read and served as the first U.S. National Ambassador for Young People's Literature (2008–2009). He has written picture books, middle-grade series (Time Warp Trio), and edited the Guys Read anthologies.
