Kristy Dempsey
Kristy Dempsey is an American author of picture books for young children. Born in Lake City, South Carolina, she has lived in Belo Horizonte, Brazil since 1998 where she works as an English teacher at the American School of Belo Horizonte. Her books include Me With You, Mini Racer, Surfer Chick, A Dance Like Starlight, Superhero Instruction Manual, and Papa Put a Man on the Moon. A Dance Like Starlight won the 2015 Golden Kite Award for Picture Book Text and has received starred reviews and multiple honors.
