Patrick Ness (born 17 October 1971) is an American–British author, journalist and screenwriter best known for his young-adult novels, including the Chaos Walking trilogy and A Monster Calls. Born in Virginia and raised in Hawaii and Washington state, he moved to London in 1999 and holds dual citizenship. Ness has won multiple awards for children’s and YA literature and has written for television and film adaptations of his work.
