Stephen Chbosky

Stephen Chbosky (born January 25, 1970) is an American author, screenwriter, and director. He is best known for his coming-of-age novel The Perks of Being a Wallflower (1999), which he later adapted and directed as a feature film (2012). His second novel, the psychological horror Imaginary Friend, was published in 2019. Chbosky has also written and directed films including Wonder (2017) and the film adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen (2021), and has worked as a screenwriter on projects such as Rent (2005) and the 2017 Beauty and the Beast adaptation.
