Mark Knowles

Mark Knowles is a British author and classicist best known for the Blades of Bronze series, which retells ancient Greek myths as rigorously researched historical adventures. He studied Classics and Management Studies at Downing College, Cambridge, worked for a decade as a frontline officer and supervisor in the Metropolitan Police Service, and later served as Head of Classics at a school in Harrogate. He is interested in experimental archaeology and has participated in practical reconstructions such as rowing on the reconstructed Athenian trireme Olympias.
