Robert Graves

Robert Graves (1895–1985) was a British poet, novelist, and scholar. He served in the First World War, wrote influential war poetry and memoirs, and is best known for his historical novels (notably I, Claudius) and seminal work on myth and poetry (The White Goddess). He produced autobiographical writings and scholarly studies of classical and Celtic literature, and his career spanned poetry, fiction, and literary criticism.
