John Matthews is a British historian, folklorist, and author, widely recognized as a leading expert on Arthurian legends, Grail studies, and Celtic mythology. Since 1980, he has authored over ninety books on these subjects, as well as short stories, poetry, and children's books. He has worked as a historical advisor in the film industry, including for the 2004 film King Arthur, for which he won a BAFTA. He resides in Oxford, England.
