C. S. Forester
Cecil Louis Troughton Smith (known by the pen name C. S. Forester or Cecil Scott Forester) (1899–1966) was an English novelist best known for the Horatio Hornblower series of naval historical novels set during the Napoleonic Wars. He also wrote standalone adventure novels such as The African Queen and Brown on Resolution. Born in Cairo and raised in England, Forester became one of the 20th century's most popular writers of sea stories and historical fiction; several of his works were adapted for film.
