Jon Ellis Meacham (born May 20, 1969) is an American historian, journalist, and presidential biographer. He is the author of several bestsellers and won the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Biography for American Lion: Andrew Jackson in the White House. Meacham has served as editor-in-chief of Newsweek, an executive editor and vice president at Random House, a contributing writer to The New York Times Book Review, and a contributing editor at Time. He was appointed Canon Historian of the Washington National Cathedral in 2021.
