Kate Fagan
Kate Fagan (Kathleen Elizabeth Fagan) is an Emmy Award–winning American journalist, commentator, and author. A former college and professional basketball player, she wrote for the Philadelphia Inquirer before joining ESPN, where she worked as a reporter and commentator. Fagan is the author of the memoir The Reappearing Act and the nonfiction book What Made Maddy Run; her fiction debut, The Three Lives of Cate Kay, was published in 2025 and was selected as a Reese’s Book Club pick. She lives in Charleston with her wife, Kathryn Budig.
