
Tarō Gomi

Tarō Gomi (born 1945) is a prolific Japanese children’s book author and illustrator known for simple, playful drawings and affectionate, witty text. He has published over 400 books in Japan, many of which have been translated worldwide (including Everyone Poops). He graduated from the Kuwazawa Design Institute and began publishing picture books in the early 1970s. His book Over the Ocean received the Mildred L. Batchelder Award in 2017.
