Michael Kevin Pollan (born February 6, 1955) is an American author, journalist, and professor best known for his writing on food, agriculture, and the human relationship to plants and nature. His major books include The Omnivore's Dilemma, The Botany of Desire, In Defense of Food, and How to Change Your Mind. Pollan has taught at UC Berkeley and Harvard and writes frequently about food systems, nutrition, ecology, and the cultural history of eating.
