Jared Mason Diamond is an American scientist, historian, and author, known for his work in ecology, biogeography, and evolutionary biology. He is a professor of geography at UCLA and has written numerous popular science books that draw from a variety of fields, including anthropology, ecology, geography, and evolutionary biology. His most notable works include "Guns, Germs, and Steel," which won a Pulitzer Prize, and "Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed."
