Christopher James Paolini is an American and Italian author best known for his fantasy series, The Inheritance Cycle, which includes Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr, and Inheritance. He began writing Eragon at the age of 15 and self-published it with his family before it was acquired by Knopf. He has also expanded into science fiction with his Fractalverse series, beginning with To Sleep in a Sea of Stars.
