Joseph Kertes
Joseph Kertes is a Hungarian-born Canadian author and educator. Born in 1951, he fled Hungary with his family following the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and settled in Canada. He is well-known for his novels exploring themes of family, displacement, and historical trauma, often drawing on his own experiences as a refugee. Kertes founded the Humber College creative writing and comedy programs and served as the Dean of the School of Creative and Performing Arts at Humber College for many years.
