Max Eisen

Max Eisen was a Slovak-born Canadian Holocaust survivor, author, public speaker, and educator. He is known for his memoir "By Chance Alone," which details his experiences surviving Auschwitz-Birkenau and other Nazi camps. Eisen dedicated much of his life to Holocaust education, traveling across Canada to share his story and promote tolerance and human rights. He was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada in 2021 for his contributions to Holocaust education.
