Georgia Hunter is an American author from Massachusetts, known for her New York Times bestselling novel "We Were the Lucky Ones," which is based on her own family's experience as Holocaust survivors. She discovered her family's history at age 15 and spent years researching it before fictionalizing their story. Her work focuses on historical fiction, often exploring themes of survival, hope, and the human spirit during challenging times. Hunter graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in psychology. Her second novel, "One Good Thing," also set during the Holocaust era, was released in 2025. She is also a freelance copywriter and has had essays and photos featured in publications like The New York Times Book Review.
