Heinz Janisch

Heinz Janisch is a prolific and highly acclaimed Austrian author and radio journalist. Born in 1960 in Güssing, Burgenland, he studied German philology and journalism at the University of Vienna. Since 1982, he has worked for the Austrian public broadcaster ORF, notably as an editor for the radio portrait series 'Menschenbilder'. He began his literary career in 1989 and has since published numerous children's books, poetry collections, and stories, earning international recognition, including the prestigious Hans Christian Andersen Award for Writing in 2024.
