Gwyn Hyman Rubio

Gwyn Hyman Rubio is an American author best known for her novel 'Icy Sparks', which was selected for Oprah's Book Club in 2001. Born in Macon, Georgia, and raised in Cordele, she is the daughter of writer Mac Hyman. After graduating from Florida State University, she served in the Peace Corps in Costa Rica. She later earned an MFA from Warren Wilson College. Her work often explores themes of the human condition, social outcasts, and Appalachian life.
