David Donachie

David Donachie (1944–2023) was a Scottish historical novelist known for his extensive work in naval fiction, particularly set during the 18th and 19th centuries. Before becoming a full-time writer, he held a variety of jobs, including salesman, truck driver, publican, and stagehand. He was a prolific author who also wrote under the pseudonyms Tom Connery and Jack Ludlow, and served two terms as chairman of the Society of Authors.
