Douglas Edward Reeman (15 October 1924 – 23 January 2017) was a British novelist best known for his sea and naval historical fiction. A former Royal Navy officer, he wrote extensively about the Royal Navy across the Age of Sail and the twentieth century, publishing dozens of novels (including the popular Richard Bolitho series written under the pen name Alexander Kent) and selling millions of copies worldwide.
